The Kid Laroi: back better than ever
The Kid Laroi returned to Australian stages at AO Live with a confident and considered performance that balanced new material with crowd favourites. Playing to a near sell-out John Cain Arena, the Sydney-born artist made it clear early that this show was about more than just hits.

Introducing songs from his new album Before I Forget, Laroi told the crowd he was “a little nervous” to be debuting them live. That honesty translated into a set that felt personal and focused, with tracks like A Perfect World and Rather Be carrying real emotional weight in an arena setting. The new material leaned into melody and introspection, signalling a clear shift in his songwriting.
Backed by a full band, Laroi’s performance was tight and polished without feeling overproduced. The crowd responded loudly to familiar tracks, with Baby I’m Back, Girls and Stay delivering the biggest reactions of the night.
Quieter moments, such as Maybe I’m Wrong gave the set room to breathe, while Laroi reminded the audience that seeing people enjoy the show was the most rewarding part of performing for him. It was a simple statement, but one that reflected the tone of the night.
The AO Live performance felt like a strong introduction to Laroi’s next chapter, showing an artist growing into his sound while still delivering on the moments fans expect.
